About Us

Bridgewater is a community located approximately 30 miles North of Pittsburgh and 30 miles from the Ohio Border. Bridgewater lies alongside the Beaver River a tributary of the Ohio River and part of the Erie Canal System.

Bridgewater is a true small town community of under one thousand residents residents. Bridgewater has many businesses including several popular restaurants, financial institutions, boutique shops and several service based small companies.

Bridgewater is the home of the first Bruster’s Ice Cream Location as well as Bruster’s Headquarters.

Bridgewater is also the home of the local newspaper The Beaver County Times.

Despite being a small community, Bridgewater has a lot of wonderful things to offer including two beautiful riverside parks on the Beaver and Ohio Rivers, the annual Beaver County Regatta the 3rd weekend in August, the Bridgewater Pumpkin Festival held each October and some of the best river access for kayaking, paddle boarding and boating in Beaver County.

Bridgewater provides important services to borough residents including a full time staffed police department and a volunteer fire department.

The residents of Bridgewater are more then just neighbors, they are friends and family. In fact many families in Bridgewater can trace their roots back several generations even to the time when the town was founded.

Bridgewater while small in size is certainly not small in hospitality and sense of community.
